Designing an android-based educational game to increase motivation in learning Japanese vocabulary

Abstrak

A person's language skill depends on their ability in mastering vocabulary, but learners have difficulty in memorizing vocabulary and become less motivated to learn. Using multimedia to assist in learning vocabulary can increase students’ motivation. This study aims to describe the making of multimedia in the form of an Androidbased educational game to help students in learning Japanese vocabulary. The making of this multimedia uses the ADDIE model and with the help of Adobe Illustrator CS6 and Construct 2 software. The results of educational games that have been designed can increase students' motivation and ability in mastering Japanese vocabulary. This android-based learning media is easily accessible and can support various learning styles of students and make learning become more effective. It also provides an active and interactive learning experience that makes students more motivated.
