The effectiveness of using Poro Kanji study for learning Japanese via smartphone apps

Abstrak

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the smartphone application used by students to learn kanji. The method used in this study is an experiment questionnaire research method supported by pre-test and post-test. Respondents in this study were first-level students of the Japanese Literature Study Program at the Universitas Komputer Indonesia, and the research sample wasnine9 people. In this era of globalization, almost most people use technology. Advances in technology are increasingly supported by the increasing use of smartphones among the public. This has significantly impacted all aspects of the field, including education. Smartphones have become a medium to help the learning process, especially in Japanese. This research’s background is to take advantage of the Poro Kanji Study application. This study shows the effectiveness of Japanese kanji learning applications. From the questionnaire results, it can be concluded that the efficacy of the Poro Kanji Study application can improve Japanese language skills, especially knowledge and understanding of kanji.
