E-learning as Learning Communication Media in Increasing Student Learning Activities during the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract. The Covid-19 pandemic weakens human activities that are faced in nature. One of the activities is in teaching and learning activities that require all units in terms of education to be carried out at home or by online. The world of education in Indonesia, especially universities, requires students to carry out learning activities by online and one of them is Universitas Komputer Indonesia. One of the activities in the digital learning process at this time is Electronic Learning or E-Learning. This study aims to describe the use of UNIKOM LMS (Learning Management System) as a learning communication medium for students study in Universitas Komputer Indonesia. It also aims to determine the inhibiting and supporting factors in the implementation of learning using E-learning. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The result of this study indicates that the use of internet-based learning communication media in the use of E-Learning is considered quite effective to increase student learning activities in the Covid-19 pandemic mass because E-learning in UNIKOM LMS is used as an information medium to obtain lecture material and complete assignments given by lecturer.
